Terms of Service

By creating an account or playing on Chess BORED! you agree to these terms. They're short, so please read them.

Fair play

• No engine assistance in online games. Don't use Stockfish or any other engine, tablebase or outside help while playing a rated game.
• One account per person. Don't create accounts to manipulate ratings or the leaderboard.
• Be decent. Pick a display name you'd be happy for anyone to see. Offensive or impersonating names may be changed or removed.
• Don't abuse the service. No stalling lost games on purpose, scripting, or attempts to disrupt the site for others.

We may reset ratings, remove games or close accounts that break these rules.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password safe. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

The service

Chess BORED! is provided free and as is, without any warranty. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that ratings and history will never be lost. Features may change or be removed.

Open source

The computer opponent is Stockfish, which is free software released under the GNU General Public License v3.

Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant we'll let you know on the site. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.
